Director : Dr Jeffrey C. Hoch, Associate Professor of Biochemistry

Jeff received his PhD from Harvard University in 1983 under the supervision of Martin Karplus and Christopher Dobson. In 1981 Jeff was a founding member of the Rowland Institute for Science in Cambridge, Mass., and served as head of the biophysical chemistry group until September of 2003, when he joined the UCHC faculty. In January of 2004 he was appointed Director of the NMR Structural Biology Facility, succeeding Glenn King. Visit the lab web site for more information.

Facility Manager: Dr Mark W. Maciejewski, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry

Mark received his PhD from Ohio State University in 1995 and was then awarded an NIH Fellowship to undertake postdoctoral studies with Dr Gregory Mullen at UConn Health Center. Mark was appointed Manager of the NMR Structural Biology Facility in 1999 and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry in 2002. His major research interest is the solution structure and dynamics of proteins involved in DNA repair. If you wish to arrange access to any of the facility instruments, contact Mark by email (markm@neuron.uchc.edu) or telephone (860-679-8759).

Director Emeritus (2002-2003) : Dr Glenn F. King, Professor of Biochemistry & Microbiology

Glenn received his PhD from the University of Sydney in 1986 and then undertook postdoctoral studies with Prof. Iain Campbell at the University of Oxford. In 1989, he was appointed to the faculty of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Sydney where he remained until 1998. During this period he served terms as Secretary and President of the Australian Society for Biophysics. In 1997 he was awarded the Boehringer-Mannheim Medal by the Australian Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Glenn joined the faculty at UConn Health Center in 1999 and was appointed Director of the NMR Structural Biology Facility in 2002.
